May 6th 2019: Sean Heighton joined PANGO-GO.
I am a South African researcher and conservationist interested in molecular techniques, stable isotopes, bioinformatics and statistics, and how to use these approaches in conserving endangered and heavily trafficked animals. My research experience is based on molecular epidemiology and stable isotopes in order to identify pathogens of public health concern and geographic traceability of trafficked pangolins. At EDB, my PhD will focus on the worldwide phylogeography of pangolins and molecular traceability of their trade using genomic tools.
